Our North America coastal infrastructure practice and New York City office are growing. We are seeking enthusiastic and dynamic individuals who want to deliver and seek out challenging projects that make a difference to our coastal communities. You will join an established and thriving coastal practice based in New York City and work on projects regionally and across the globe that will help protect coastal communities, enhance resilience to the effects of coastal flooding and climate change, and minimize impacts to the environment. Our coastal practice focuses on the design of coastal management structures, numerical modeling studies, regional resiliency projects, port and waterfront development projects, and mitigating the impacts of climate change for a range of public and private sector clients. You will have the chance to participate in the delivery of our wide-ranging portfolio of port, coastal and maritime projects and work as part of an integrated and forward-thinking team. As a key member of our growing coastal infrastructure group you will be an integral part of our plan to continue expanding our business and help make Jacobs the industry-leader in coastal services worldwide.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
Perform statistical and time-series analysis of metocean data.
Design of coastal structures such as breakwaters, revetments, groins and soft infrastructure such as living shorelines, beaches and dunes.
Prepare project construction plans and specifications.
Ensure conformance to applicable engineering codes and standards as well as company procedures.
Work with our port engineers to determine coastal design criteria and metocean design loading on various types of marine structures.
Work collaboratively with our geotechnical and marine structural engineers, project managers, and other technologists to further develop your professional career and knowledge while assisting in the successful delivery of our multi-disciplinary projects.
Assist and/or lead in the preparation of design drawings, technical memoranda, technical specifications, and design reports for the successful delivery of our coastal projects.
Support and/or lead in the technical delivery of small to large-scale coastal projects involving design and/or coastal modeling.
Assist and/or lead in the development of proposals involving coastal infrastructure services, both domestically and internationally.

Bachelor of Science in Engineering is required Master’s degree in coastal engineering, applied ocean engineering or related field is preferred.
At least 5 years of experience in coastal engineering and design projects.
Professional Engineer (PE) License or able to obtain within a year.
Good understanding of the design principles of coastal structures
Knowledge or familiarity of coastal numerical modeling tools is a plus.
Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or Civil3D is highly desirable.
Experience with post-processing software’s such as Matlab and Mathcad is highly desirable.
Preferred candidates will have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and the ability to work collaboratively on multi-disciplinary teams.
Must also be highly motivated, hard-working, and capable of working both independently and in a team, proactive, and with a ‘can-do' attitude.
Desire to gain knowledge and experience and advance career through training.
