The candidate will assist engineers and project managers by performing various engineering assignments across a variety of projects including tasks such as: roadway geometric (alignment and profile) design, roadway modeling, quantity take offs, plan preparation, maintenance of traffic, and exhibit creation. Applicant will be expected to work closely with project team members, be flexible in meeting changing project needs, work effectively under pressure, to work on tight deadlines and be able to work remotely with other offices. This position will be in Detroit but will be working with Michigan and Ohio teams on projects in various states and also has the potential to provide support to other offices within the USA.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering required, Major: Civil (Transportation\Focus)

  • Minimum 1 year related experience required in transportation work with an emphasis on roadway design is required

  • Previous Department of Transportation, County or Municipal experience preferred

  • Strong MicroStation and Geopak background preferred

  • Experience with roadway design including horizontal and vertical alignments, and developing other roadway components incorporated into a set of construction plans

  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills

  • Strong oral and written communications skills

  • Strong time management and attention to detail

  • Either are registered as a PE in Michigan or close to obtaining a license
