Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and other Mechanical Engineering computer modeling
Analysis of subway networks using Subway Environment Simulation (SES) software
Develop CFD modelling and perform simulations to size, evaluate and optimize tunnel ventilation strategies for enclosed mass transit, rail and road tunnels
Analyze and assess the physical meaning, consistency and accuracy of the CFD results. Generate detailed reports of findings
Participate in meetings with client to present the results of CFD modeling
Design tunnel ventilation systems including fans, dampers, and ductwork
Code and Life Safety Analysis and reviews
Maintain a working knowledge and understanding of the relevant codes, regulations and client specific requirements
Conduct facility evaluations for compliance with procedures and fire protection codes and standards, identify deficiencies, recommend corrective actions and provide the necessary technical support to resolve issues. Evaluate alternate means and methods for achieving code compliance.
Work directly with other CFD modelers, mechanical team members, other engineering disciplines and project managers to help complete assigned tasks and projects
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline is required
FE/EIT certification is required
At least 3 years of professional experience is required
Knowledgeable on Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), Advance Fluid Dynamics, Thermodynamics, Heat Transfer
Knowledge in CFD analysis software (ANSYS Fluent, Star-CCM , FDS)
Relevant experience in using CFD and SES software for smoke control and fire modeling
Excellent oral communication and written skills
Ability to work under pressure on multiple tasks
Excellent planning and organization skills required for our fast-paced environment
Highly motivated, proactive and willing to take on new challenges.
Travel as needed
Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline
Experience in design of HVAC systems, plumbing systems, and fire protection systems
Experience in fire engineering analysis and reports
Experience in tunnel inspection
CAD Design using AutoCAD, Microstation, BIM
Skills in technical presentations and technical writing
