By joining us as Project Architect, you’ll work closely with a team of architects, technical leadership and multi-discipline design team members with the primary role of being the on-site representative for a buildings project during construction administration.

Responsibilities include actively participating and managing Construction Administration, conducts on-site observation of work during the construction phase to monitor compliance with design documents. You will need to have a thorough understanding of the deliverable phase during construction which includes the issuance of bulletins, RFI’s, submittal review, field sketch responses and substitution request review. You will need to have a working knowledge of BIM and clash detection during construction phase services and experience coordinating between the contractors and design model clashes. You’ll work closely with the Project Manager to identify and issue change orders during construction, this will require working with the architecture team in addition to the multi-discipline team to define the change in scope and prepare budget adjustments to support the change orders.

As a project architect in this role you will have a proficient knowledge of technical detailing, multi-discipline building systems and construction sequencing to pre-position you to be able to discuss issues and concerns with the client and contractor. As the on-site representative you will need to be comfortable discussing issues with the client and contractor and also reporting that information back to the in-office team, this may require preparing and presenting studies and reports.

Typical salary range for this position is $118,000 to $155,000 - and is commensurate with experience relative to the position.

Here’s what you’ll need :

  • Bachelor in Architecture from an NCARB accredited program is required

  • 15 years related professional experience

  • NY State License required.

  • Familiarity with NYC codes and regulations required.

  • Previous experience with Construction Administration Phase Services for New Construction

  • Travel is required.

  • Job requires on-site representation for multi-discipline team with Owner, and Contractor.

  • Understands constructability, and construction sequencing.

  • Strong collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills.

  • Advanced knowledge and experience in construction documentation and administration, materials and methods of construction, building, life safety and accessibility codes.

  • Advanced understanding of facility structural, mechanical, and electrical systems and their interrelationships.

  • Able to effectively balance multiple priorities and project schedules.

  • Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office suite.

  • Self-driven time management skills; able to work independently and collaboratively; focused on total project success.
