Jacobs Resident Engineer in New York, New York

We strive to have a positive impact on developing the infrastructure that keeps our communities running and to be successful in our goals, we’re seeking a Resident Engineer to provide critical construction management support to ensure our projects stay on track.
We’ll look to you to perform daily project administration and coordination for construction projects related to heavy transportation infrastructure. You will be responsible for leading the inspection staff including reviewing daily inspector reports, handling project correspondence and maintaining accurate records, producing estimates, assisting with the change order process, reviewing contractor payroll reports and EEO documents.
You should have considerable knowledge of NYSDOT highway, bridge, rail or facilities construction practices and procedures; have the ability to prepare correspondence, reports and recommendations concerning construction issues; have a demonstrated ability to deal effectively with others. In addition, you should have the ability to use applicable software and record keeping methods consistent with the requirements of Jacobs and our clients.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management
• Licensed Professional Engineer plus 8 years of experience, or CCM Certification plus 10 years of experience
• Must have New York Professional Engineer (PE) License
• Field Inspection Experience, substantial professional years experience
• Supervisory Experience, substantial professional years experience
• Knowledge of NYSDOT construction policies and procedures.
• Basic knowledge of CPM scheduling techniques.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent computer and mathematical skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office suite.
• The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A valid driver’s license.
