Lead the planning and design for port terminals and waterfront developments. Conduct marine engineering analyses, identify the problem(s), develop and evaluate alternative solutions, and prepare recommendations. Project management by forecasting, installing, and maintain all project management systems and processes. Prepare technical reports, preliminary and detailed design documents, engineering specifications, and calculations in support of engineering activities. Conduct field investigations to identify project needs and perform construction inspections. Perform project management activities for maritime planning and engineering design projects. Lead regional coastal resiliency initiative, engaging with key stakeholders and clients to promote sector growth. Review engineering drawings and specifications to ensure information presented is correct, matches the design and is buildable. Review engineering calculations prepared by others. Manage construction projects including review of contractor submittals and requests for information.

Typical salary range for this position is $126,741 to $160,000- and is commensurate with experience relative to the position.

Here’s what you’ll need :

REQUIREMENTS: This position requires a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Civil Engineering or related field and 10 years of work experience in Maritime Civil Engineering occupation. In Lieu of the requirements listed above, employer will accept: Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Civil Engineering or related field and 8 years of work experience in Maritime Civil Engineering occupation.

SPECIFIC SKILLS:

Special Skills or Other Requirements

Expertise/ knowledge of: Design of maritime structures; Civil Engineering design and construction; Understanding marine facility layouts and mooring/berthing arrangements; Port and terminal planning; International design standards, codes and practices; Understanding of structural theory; Proficiency in Microsoft Project and Excel, AutoCAD, and structural analysis software such as STAAD.
