We are seeking an experienced Senior Signal Engineer to assist with the following,

  • Design and oversee implement vital and non-vital signal systems in rail and transit

  • Plan, direct and coordinate activities of projects to ensure the goals or objectives of these projects are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters.

  • Work collaboratively with signal manager and other signals and disciplines of the company

  • Establish work plan and multi-disciplinary staffing for each phase of project and arranges for recruitment or assignment of project personnel.

  • Design signal systems with latest standards

  • Verify that signal system installation conforms to drawings and latest standards

  • Check signal designs

  • Support implementation and testing of signal designs

  • Work collaboratively with signal manager and other signals and disciplines of the company

  • Report to and support NY Signal System Manager on various Signal projects

  • Initiate and review proposals.

  • Participate in interviews and presentations as applicable.

  • Maintain positive relationships with current and past clients as assigned. Informs Principal-in-charge of potential opportunities to market our engineering services.

  • Serve as a representative at meetings, presentations and public hearings/reviews relative to assigned projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related computer field is required

  • At least 12 years experience in related signal design is required

  • Signal and circuit design experience

  • Positive Train Control (PTC) or Communications Based Train Control (CBTC)

  • Microprocessor Vital Non vital software circuit logic

  • Simulation testing

  • Track Signal Routing (TSR)

  • Signal Control Lines, Cable Plans, & Tie-in Circuits to existing system

  • Automatic Train Control (ASC) and Highway Grade Crossings

  • Professional Engineering License, highly desirable
