Jacobs has a great opportunity for a Senior Traffic Manager in our New York City office. The position provides the ability to contribute immediately to traffic and transportation project development and execution. Position will assist in operational management of the Traffic group by coordinating and planning staff resources as well as project scheduling, budget management, quality control, safety and organization of the Traffic Groups internal technical and support staff, and subconsultants. Key clients include Federal, NJDOT, NYSDOT, NYCDOT, NYCEDC, NYCDDC, DSNY, and the Port Authority of NY & NJ.
Responsibilities for this role include:
Implementation of the Transportation System Management and Operational aspect of project designs for complex multi-million dollar projects as principal engineer and/or project manager.
Project manager for traffic and transportation assignments, responsible for staffing, coordination of work product, schedule, scope, and budget management as well as client engagement and management.
Maintains effective communication with project team members and with clients to ensure expectations are identified and met
Providing technical guidance, career development and mentoring to his/her project staff.
Develops solutions to complex problems that require a high degree of innovation and ingenuity
Managing project quality by providing ideas and suggestions aimed at improving the effectiveness of project activities
Delivering large complex and/or multiple projects on time and within budget
Providing traffic safety leadership to projects
Responsible for performing transportation/traffic engineering and design
Helping to plan and execute teaming strategies for public projects as well as Public Private Partnerships, Design-Build and other forms of project delivery
Performing sales activities including client development, proposal and qualifications development, and interviews in collaboration with the internal sales team and NYC office leadership.

Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in a Transportation/Traffic engineering discipline is required
15 years of Transportation/Traffic design engineering experience required
P.E. registrations in New York and New Jersey is required
Experience in leading and successfully completing traffic engineering projects such as signal timing, signing, striping, and signal design, construction traffic control, traffic impact studies, safety studies, corridor plans, operations analysis, multi-modal studies etc. is required
Previous work experience with NYSDOT, NYCDOT, PANYNJ, and NJDOT projects (studies and design) is required
demonstrated experience with preparation of plans, specification and estimates to state and local standards is required
Proficiency with HCM, MUTCD, AASHTO “Green Book”, HSM is required
Previous Transportation Planning and Traffic engineering experience with regards to NEPA studies is preferred
Road Safety Audit (RSA) experience is preferred
