We’re seeking a Sr Civil Engineer to join our Civil/Highway team in New York. Primary responsibilities will consist of civil/site design and jurisdictional agency permitting for transportation infrastructure projects. We’ll provide you the opportunity for professional growth by having you be responsible for design, oversight and coordination with co-workers/support staff, quality control, client and sub-consultant contacts and tracking project financials. You’ll be accountable for schedule and technical quality of challenging engineering tasks in accordance with client expectations, scope, budget, and schedule.

Working with a team of engineers, you will lead projects from conceptual through final design, including preparation of general civil plans grading, drainage and stormwater management plans, utility plans, erosion and sediment control plans, related permitting applications, specifications, quantity takeoffs, and construction cost estimates.

The base salary range for this position is $125,000 to $175,000. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

Here’s what you’ll need :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering

  • Licensed Professional Engineer in NY or ability to obtain within six months

  • Project engineering experience in civil/site design and familiarity with New York State and New York City regulatory requirements

  • Experience providing design services to NY transportation agencies including MTA, PANYNJ, NYSDOT, NYCDOT, NYCEDC and NYCDDC

  • Experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Microstation/OpenRoads (focus on site plan layout, grading, drainage, coordination with other disciplines)

Ideally, You’ll Also Have:

  • Demonstrated success in client relationships

  • Experience in proposal preparation including technical approach writing and hours estimating

  • Strong time management and attention to detail skills

  • Ability to multi-task and independently prioritize your workload while adhering to company guidelines

  • Excellent organizational skills
