Jacobs Structural EIT- Rail Structures in New York, New York

By joining our team as an engineer, you’ll assist on rail structural design projects and perform complex structural analysis and design as well as provide critical inspections in the field. We’ll ask you to assist with planning, analysis, design, plan preparation, specification development, quantity and cost estimating, and report writing.

We regularly work with geotechnical, highway, and hydraulic engineers so you will use your general understanding of those disciplines to coordinate project work. We’ll expect you to assist on rail projects to ensure that goals or objectives of these projects are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters. Be involved in projects with our Transportation Structures and Design-Build Oversight Teams and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges.

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering

• Registered EIT

• Substantial years of relevant post education experience in engineering, structural/civil and infrastructure design.

• Knowledge of construction drawing standards

• Competent in using building Code and understanding of ACI and AISC provisions is preferred

• Proficient in using STAAD, SAP, RAM Steel to analyze building structures

• Competent in using AutoCAD and MicroStation and ability utilize REVIT or Bentley in BIM

• Skilled in using MS word, Excel, and PowerPoint

• Experience within Transportation industry and Understanding of AREMA is preferred

• Able to work at field sites and some nights/weekends

• Ability to work on multiple projects

• Self-starter and can work independently
