About the opportunity

Jacobs Three Waters team has an excellent reputation for delivering someof the most innovative and iconic water and wastewater infrastructure projectsin New Zealand and Australia. They have undergone significant growth over therecent period and have a strong pipeline of work ahead. Jacobs Structural teamare increasing our water structures capacity to support the growth in our waterteam.

Based in either of Auckland, Christchurch, Hamilton or Wellington, thisis a great opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic Senior WaterStructures Engineer (SWS) to be part of our winning team. The SWS will beresponsible for providing structural engineering design and project leadershipto the structural engineering team. The SWS will complement the existingspecialist water structures engineers within the New Zealand business.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Providing technical inputs in theinvestigation, design and operation of water related infrastructure, incl.

  • Water /Wastewater treatment

  • Pumpingstations & rising mains

  • Waterstorage and pipelines

  • Stormwater

  • Riverprotection

  • Irrigation

  • Cross discipline design and projectmanagement

  • Scoping projects and providing tenderinputs for proposal submissions, supported by our sales team and widerbusiness.

  • Assisting in the growth of the wateroperation by developing and fostering good client relationships.

About you

This position requires the following skills, experienceand qualifications:

  • Graduate degree, or equivalent, in a field relevant to Structural WaterEngineering

  • Chartered Structural Engineer, New Zealand, or Chartered overseas eligiblefor chartered status with Engineers New Zealand.

  • Experience working as a professional practitioner in the field of Structuralwater engineering

  • Ability to effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, withclients and project staff

  • Ability to interpret and communicate information of a more complexnature

  • Experience in full BIM delivery of industrial projects is preferred, butnot a necessity.
