About the Opportunity

We are looking for a Project Manager to join our new Water Catchment Management team based in Newcastle. You will have the opportunity to support a wide range of projects in the field water and environment for major public and private sector organisations, such as the Environment Agency, Local Authorities and water companies.

Your role will include:

Project management on a variety of water environment and engineering programmes and projects, taking responsibility for the safe delivery of our projects to meet programme and budget requirements, whilst maintaining high quality standards.

  • Contract administration, including invoicing, forecasting, schedule management, QA documentation

  • Ensuring the health, safety and wellbeing of your project team

  • Planning and scheduling work

  • Identifying and managing risk and change

  • Reporting on performance

  • Management and development of less experienced colleagues in the team

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within existing contracts and support sales opportunities across the wider business.

You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and have the opportunity to be involved in a wide variety of projects. Our project portfolio spans the full lifecycle from feasibility studies through appraisal and optioneering to detailed design and site support, providing a wide range of opportunities to develop your experience and advance your career.

Here’s what you’ll need :

  • Good understanding of the technical work undertaken in the water environment sector.

  • Proven ability of managing a variety of project types and sizes across a range of sectors.

  • Able to operate autonomously, with authority, skilled in developing and building relationships.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

  • Able to identify client requirements and scope wider business opportunities.

  • Proven ability of working under a range of contract forms, in particular NEC.
