Jacobs’ Remote Sensing Division develops and deploys remote sensing products and services. Our core product line, the Aeroptic System, provides a technically differentiated aerial mapping capability in several market segments. The primary attribute for any position in the Remote Sensing Division is a dedication to problem-solving, whether you are operating from our office in Massachusetts or operating in an aircraft in Africa. We work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, and we are looking for colleagues who welcome that challenge.
Jacobs is currently seeking a self-motivated Project Manager to join a multi-disciplinary team of operations and engineering personnel tasked with digital aerial mapping operations using a fleet of nationally deployed aircraft. In close collaboration with operations and engineering personnel within our organization, the project manager assists Program Managers (PM) in overseeing the coordination and administration of all aspects of the programs, including planning, organizing, leading, controlling & monitoring, and stakeholder communications. The successful Project Manager must be comfortable operating within an enterprise of stakeholders. He/she must have outstanding organizational and communications skills in order to keep multiple groups coordinated and keep the Program Manager, and occasionally the customer properly informed. Successful Project Manager must be self-disciplined and possess the ability to timely accomplish all implied and specified tasks. He/she should require little to no daily supervision and must work efficiently and productively in both in-office and remote settings.
Assists the Program Managers with daily management of division programs.
Mobilizes company resources, through liaison with support departments, other offices and subsidiaries to create project teams capable of completing effective, quality work.
Collaborates with the office facilities staff to address project space requirements.
Reviews and understands contracts and service agreements, ensures project compliance with such governing documents.
Acts as the company representative with the client and selected subcontractors during program execution.
Works with other managers, project engineers and discipline leads to develop budgets, schedules, and plans for the various stages of a project.
Ensures that the project meets or exceeds goals established in project plans.
Works with the key project individual to devise and execute actions plans to rectify potential cost overruns or delays, or to accommodate significant changes to the scope of work. Advises the client and company management of any such changes.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
Experience in commercial operations in a fast paced, fluid environment
Relevant project management experience
Ability to multi-task and manage several projects simultaneously
Available to work/be on call weekends, based on demands and Operational Temp (OPTEMPO)
Excellent proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Project.
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.
Aviation operations experience.
Remote Sensing Experience.
3+ years of experience as a successful project manager in the commercial market.
Experience working with DoD programs.
Bachelor’s Degree in an engineering or scientific field.
Project Management Professional (PMP) training/certification
