Reporting to the Section Leader - ANZ Rail Systems, as a Senior Associate Safety Risk Engineer you’ll be supporting the Jacobs rail team in the execution and delivery of technical safety solutions through the application of sound principles in preliminary hazard analysis, safety in design and consequence modelling coupled with the assessment of risk. The role requires close collaboration with the Client, Government agencies and multi-discipline design teams. You will be supporting the Jacobs ANZ rail team in the delivery of technical solutions/artefacts across its rail clients. You will provide technical leadership and role modelling of Jacobs’ core values, fostering an inclusive and diverse cultural ethos that embodies Jacobs’ Culture of Caring. You will set clear technical direction and provide a strong role model regarding client focus and responsiveness and your strong client relationships will help to ensure we can identify and anticipate client needs.

You will support the team through delivery of projects across the various phases of its lifecycle and assist our client in achieving construction objectives though the post design phases of a project. You will ensure delivery complies with Safety Assurance and Systems Engineering principles. Here’s What You’ll Need:

• Relevant Tertiary Qualifications in Engineering.

• Extensive experience in the preparation, execution, analysis, and reporting of PHA and Safety in Design workshops.

• Extensive experience in the assessment of risk (qualitative and semi-qualitative, predominately).

• Experience in the application of various Hazard Analyses techniques.

• Extensive experience in developing safety risk plans, safety cases and other safety and risk related documentation in accordance with engineering standards.

• Effective communication skills including technical writing and verbal communication.

Rail experience desirable but not essential. Safety risk and process safety engineers from industries outside of transport are encouraged to apply.
