Your Impact:

We’re looking for a collaborative and driven team member to join our Nuclear Projects and Consulting (NPC) sales team as a Senior Business Development Professional. Your primary focus will be to partner with the strategy team to capture qualified opportunities in the NPC pipeline. You will implement Jacobs’ Relationship Based Sales process to achieve key business goals; develop, maintain, and advance client relationships through sales strategies, client contacts, and ownership of the end to end capture process; and develop compliant and compelling proposals to win new work.

Here's what you’ll be doing:

  • Responsible for opportunity qualification and analysis; client and industry positioning activities; teaming and capture strategy; competitive analysis; proposal strategy, preparation, and submittal; and implementation support.

  • Support pipeline development regarding pursuits primarily in the DOE and DoD nuclear market space

  • Assess competition and potential markets consistent with company growth targets.

  • Develop and maintain business relationships with key decision makers and work with Business Development (BD) and Operations to leverage relationships across company and marketspace.

  • Identify, cultivate, and establish Teaming Agreements with key partners.

  • Author proposal sections and sales documents that communicate the value proposition of the company's offering.

  • Responsible for research and analysis of business opportunities relating to nuclear BD strategies.

  • Work with Cost personnel to propose cost strategies and efficiencies.

  • Develop and grow client relationships via customer visits.

  • Majority of support to occur in the Oak Ridge, TN Area; periodic CONUS travel expected and may be up to 25%.

  • Ensure effective implementation of quality, safety, and BeyondZero program to promote incident-and injury-free culture.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline, Business, English, Communications, or other closely related discipline.

  • A minimum of fifteen (15) years related experience

  • Experience in developing proposals for capital projects.

  • U.S. citizenship required. No dual citizens. Valid driver's license is required.

  • Ability to demonstrate knowledge of business development and the proposal process.

  • Ability to demonstrate leadership skills as evidenced by prior management experience.

  • Ability to perform customer visits to understand customer’s needs and requirements.

  • Ability to demonstrate working knowledge of cost strategies at contract and task order level.

Ideal candidate will also have:

  • Previous Jacobs, CH2M or Wood Nuclear BD experience is highly desired

  • A Master’s degree in a technical discipline, Business, English, Communications, or other closely related discipline.

  • Ability to demonstrate creative thinking.

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.

  • Demonstrable organizational skills to include the ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously.

  • Ability to interface effectively with people at all levels of the organization.

  • Ability to work after normal hours or weekends with short notice.

  • Ability to work in a team environment.

Essential Requirements:

  • Work Environment : Office/cubical environment

  • Physical Requirements : Must be able to move and sit for extended periods (100%), as well as lift and carry light items, such as reports, data products, notebooks, and laptops. Vision correctable to 20/20. Candidate must have the ability to read and use required equipment and software unassisted.

  • Equipment and Machines : Standard office equipment – laptop, telephone, fax, copier, job related software (Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe products) and other related equipment (90%).

  • Criticality of Attendance : Regular attendance mandatory (100%) with ability to work outside normal schedule required (as needed).

  • Other Essential Functions :

  • Must take and pass a pre-employment drug and background check.

  • Must be able to read and write effectively in English.
