As our global supply and ask for electric grows, solving the world’s most complex electric challenges requires different thinking – and that’s where we come in. We are seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated Senior Construction Project Manager to join our growing Oak Ridge TN office.
This is an exciting and unique opportunity to play a vital role on our team as Senior Construction Project Manager on a large 138KV design build transmission project, with a construction budget exceeding 25 million. The project includes the construction of 27 miles of 138KV transmission main for the US Dept of Energy in Las Vegas NV. This is an active Jacobs project, and it is currently under design. Jacobs is a leading tier 1 nuclear service provider.
The Dept of Energy decided that this project will be delivered using a lump sum delivery method. Construction is scheduled to commence in December of 2021.
The Construction Project Manager will also serve as an important component of our long-term growth strategy for clients in Nevada and beyond.
Bring your leadership abilities to guide a team of resident engineers (REs) and resident project representatives (RPRs) while providing extensive coordination with our design engineering team and STR in the delivery of this critical infrastructure project.
As Construction Project Manager, you will provide full‐time RPR services to monitor and document the progress and quality of the construction ensuring that this project is accomplished in conformance with our contract documents. Be an ambassador with the ability to utilize “soft” skills and an in‐depth understanding of potential construction impacts on the Dept Of Energy communications to ensure such impacts and changes to the contract are minimized, and 2) carry out positive interactions with the Dept Of Energy during pre‐construction and construction.

Manages large projects (>$50M TPC) that may involve complex and technically challenging scopes of work.
Responsible for all aspects of the project over the entire lifecycle (initiation, planning, executing,
monitoring & controlling and closing).
Serve as the Construction Project Manager for 138KV project, which includes new fiber optic
system throughout the 27 miles.
Provide project support for change control reviews that propose significant changes or impact
programmatic requirements and reporting.
Interface with executive management to address/elevate key project issues and risks.
Hold project reviews and headquarters/dignitary tours, meetings, and reporting.
Manage Design-Build subcontract to plan, accomplish, monitor, report, and deliver project scope.
Ensure the project deliverables meet company and project specific standards and requirements.
Supervise project controls and STR during execution phase
Here’s What You’ll Need:
B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering, or Construction Management or equivalent
A history of construction delivery roles with progressively increasing responsibility, including detailed infrastructure RPR experience (experience does not have to be contiguous)
Demonstrated leadership and management of large teams
Proven ability to interface with government agencies and public entities
Detailed understanding of total project delivery requirements, including planning, design, and construction
Commitment to and experience with team and staff development
Demonstrated capabilities in multi-agency environments
Ability to track and manage general contractors and subcontractors
Extensive working experience with utility infrastructure development, particularly in major urban environments
Ability to travel to the construction site in Nevada as needed. Up to 70% at times.
Ideally, you’ll also have:
Certified Construction Manager (CCM), Professional Engineer (PE) license/certification
Experience with projects that utilize alternative project delivery, including Lump Sum.
Essential Functions: Intermittent sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, and lifting. Lifting requirements limited to 20 lbs. in the form of supplies, drawings, etc. Longest distance carried of 50 feet. Hand manipulation is required for simple grasping, pushing and pulling, and fine manipulation. Right and/or left hands utilized. Occasional need to reach and/or work above the shoulder, for supplies, as well as below the shoulder for same. Occasional need to walk on uneven ground, exposure to dust, gas or fumes, exposure to noise, extremes in temperature or humidity. - The work location for this position could be most Jacobs USA locations with frequent travel 70% to the construction site in Nevada. Ideal locations would be Oak Ridge, Tennessee.
