Your Impact:

Our People & Places Solutions team is seeking a mid-level Infrastructure Sustainability Specialist to provide technical and strategic sustainable and resilient solutions to the pursuit, design and delivery of major projects across all sectors.

Your role will include leading teams – both large and small – of architecture and engineering staff on projects where sustainability and resilience goals require broad understanding of multiple performance criteria and overlapping rating systems, as well as wide-ranging community requirements. You and your team will produce project documentation, set sustainability and resilience standards for and/or assist tracking compliance in project phases (planning, design, procurement, construction, operations), maintaining firm-wide documentation procedures and standards, and working with architects and engineers to understand design intent and goals for successful implementation for various facility design projects.

You will be a positive communicator with strong influencing ability who’s able to lead projects without direct supervision, able to coordinate the work of various project teams, connect with our global technical experts, and deliver exceptional results independently. You will be a systems thinker and creative problem solver for our clients’ toughest challenges.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • A minimum of 5 years’ professional relevant experience for infrastructure-related design and construction projects

  • Master’s Degree in Urban Development, Planning, Sustainability, or similar from an accredited program

  • Demonstrated progressive overall experience in an Architectural, Design, or Engineering organization

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Detailed knowledge of sustainability, resilience, and integrated design process

  • Demonstrated knowledge of sustainable and resilient design alternatives such as natural infrastructure, energy and water efficiency, renewables, procurement and construction logistics best practices, stormwater management, etc.

  • Ability to stay current with regulations and trends in the industry at a national level

  • Strong organizational skills to help facilitate multiple projects at one time, communication (both verbal and written) skills, creative problem-solving abilities, business development / client relationship building skills, and leadership abilities

  • Experience in facilitation and delivery on sustainability projects and programs working in a client-facing role

  • Ability to effectively coordinate with architectural and engineering project team members, both internal and external

  • Professional experience writing and developing project reports and presentations

  • Must display enthusiasm, motivation, and be goal-oriented

  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States for any employer

Ideally, You'll Also Have:

  • Demonstrated software experience in the usage of Adobe Creative Cloud suite, and Microsoft Office suite

  • Ability to travel as needed

  • Active Envision Sustainability Professional or similar credential

  • Experience creating and working with client- or geographic-specific design standards

  • Experience in the preparation and management work plans for sustainable design work, schedules, budgets, staffing projections, and fees for large projects

  • Experience on fast-track, accelerated project delivery
