This position requires experience in integrating and delivering projects through design, construction and commissioning in an operational railway as well as an understanding of alternative construction options and project delivery of transit construction contracts. The Interface Coordinator will perform a variety of Program Integration activities throughout the various lifecycle stages of a Transit Infrastructure Program and act as a support function to the Project Delivery Teams.

The Interface Coordinator will be responsible for assisting the Integration and Stakeholder team with identifying and tracking program interfaces, managing stakeholders, drafting reports and presentations, and tracking property acquisitions. Furthermore, the role requires excellent ability to communicate complex ideas and information using a combination of graphics and visual aids that are accurate, clear and concise.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the necessary integration of all works across various teams as a part of a wider Integration and Stakeholder Management Team including identifying and tracking interfaces, properties, permits, licences, agreements, utilities and heritage elements.

  • Develop communication aids that articulate complex concepts in a clear and concise manner for Senior Management.

  • Review the constructability and staging of all required works with the Project Delivery Team and determine the necessary implementation strategy and resolve conflicts.

  • Attendance and taking meeting notes at multiple different working groups both technical and commercial.

  • Ability to work in a team environment that consists of the Client, Technical Advisor, Contractors and 3rd Party Stakeholders.

  • Monitor the progress of design development, construction, commissioning and ability to identify and provide mitigation strategies to issues, conflicts and risks.

  • Keep Integration and Stakeholder Management Team routinely informed of project status and all developments that impact schedule, budget and reputation.

  • Ability to manage work load in a dynamic environment with competing priorities and respond to urgent ad-hoc requests effectively as necessary.

Job Specifications:

  • Assist the Integration and Stakeholder Management Team with identifying, track and resolving;program interface conflicts,property requirement and acquisitions,3rd Party permits, licences, agreements and approvals andutilities.

  • Use of GIS software to map program interfaces and other assets as required.

  • Use of project management tools and familiar with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe programs.

  • Coordinate ad-hoc activities as required by the Client.

  • Working with the Project Delivery Team, Technical Advisor and Stakeholders as it applies to implementation of the Project.

  • Attendance at multiple, different, technical and commercial project working groups and taking meeting minutes as required.

  • Self-motivator with efficient time management and organizational skills. Effective communicator and ability to develop highly effective presentations for Senior Management.

Qualifications

Education, Experience, & Certifications:

  • BS or MS graduate of an engineering discipline or similar applicable technical discipline.

  • Minimum 2-3 years of proven project management in the field of transportation engineering is required.

  • Engineering and/or project management designations will be valuable.

  • Experience with DB or AFP contracts is advantageous.

  • Enrolled in EIT is an asset

  • P.Eng. not required

Work conditions:

  • Working from Jacobs and client offices as required.
