You will have the chance to work on exciting and engaging medium to large-scale infrastructure tunneling projects in the Greater Toronto area, where you’ll will utilize your Construction Management expertise to lead teams in a safe and efficient delivery – from start to finish. You’ll work with the best Engineers and Project Managers in the business, as well as work directly with the project Contractors and interacting with the Client. In this role, you’ll lead and manage the construction project team through site mobilization, execution, and demobilization activities, consistent with established project delivery processes to ensure the orderly, efficient, and timely completion of the project scope in accordance with requirements specified in the contract documents, and policies and procedures of Jacobs and our clients. Onsite activities may include construction supervision, field administration, procurement, and field engineering. As a Construction Manager, you will be responsible for developing a construction management plan and then working collaboratively with the Owner, Contractor and the Jacobs project team to control time, scope, cost and quality of the construction project, and the preparation of timely and accurate documentation for contract records. You will complete the scope of work to the satisfaction of the client, while simultaneously ensuring that Jacob’s HS&E, quality, financial, risk management; business and policy expectations are met.
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or Engineering
P.Eng. designation in Ontario or eligibility to obtain within 6 months of employment, is preferable but not mandatory
Minimum 15 years of progressive linear stormwater and sewer construction management related experience
Minimum 7 years’ experience with construction management or contract administration of tunneling (water and transportation sectors) and microtunneling projects
Strong organizational, communications (both verbal and written skills) and leadership abilities
Strong inspirational and inclusive leadership skills to include demonstrated construction management, project management, client management and public and stakeholder engagement
Familiarity with construction of infrastructure projects in Ontario is preferred but not mandatory
Design experience with stormwater and sewer tunneling projects would be an asset
CCM and/or PMP would be an asset
