As an Electrical Engineering Group Leader based in Orlando Florida, you’ll be using your design and analysis skills to plan and design electrical systems for buildings and facilities, including commercial and institutional projects, as well as provide guidance and leadership to the electrical group.

Group Leader Responsibilities:

  • Promote a culture of caring, quality, safety and Inclusion and Diversity.

  • Serve as key technical expert and resource on projects within discipline.

  • Carry out the responsibilities of a Lead Engineer on medium and large sized projects or provide technical support / leadership on a project.

  • Design and perform calculations for lighting systems and associated controls.

  • Prepare load analysis for different stages of design.

  • Prepare drawings detailing the system designed.

  • Prepare basis of design reports.

  • Prepare and document energy compliance calculations and forms.

  • Select equipment and fixtures for use in the building.

  • Coordinate work with engineers of other disciplines and architects.

  • Approve time sheets and expense reports for aligned staff.

  • Partner with Market Leader and Sales team to grow and maintain a sustainable work pipeline.

  • Steward career development – basic skill development and sustainment, growth opportunities and skill refinement.

Our Electrical Engineers perform a wide range of skills as part of an integrated design building services provider. Our skills include power system planning, power distribution, lighting design, fire and life safety systems, vertical transportation, and construction coordination. Vertical building and infrastructure project types can include commercial, educational, healthcare, industrial, and transportation sectors. Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Electrical Engineering

  • Progressive experience as an Electrical Engineer (Minimum of 10 years’ experience)

  • Professional Engineering Licensure or ability to obtain is required

  • Demonstrated aptitude, ability, and capacity to build a team

  • Strong social, communication, planning, and organizational skills

  • Ability to develop other front-line leaders as part of succession planning

  • Solid knowledge and application of the electrical requirements per NFPA 70, 70E, 72, 101, 110, building codes, energy codes, and other related standards such as IEEE and ASHRAE standards

  • Extensive knowledge of Short Circuit Coordination Studies and Arc Flash Analysis utilizing SKM or Easy Power

  • Working knowledge of MicroStation, AutoCAD, Revit, or BIM software

Ideally, You’ll Also Have: 

  • Knowledge of Telecommunications, Fire Alarm, and/or Security systems
