We have an exciting opportunity for an Intermediate Civil / Conveyance Engineer based in our Ottawa or Toronto, ON office to work on exciting and engaging large-scale infrastructure projects. In this role you will have the chance to participate in and lead the design of linear infrastructure projects, watermain, sewer, distribution networks, tunnels, rehabilitation projects of varying size and complexity. Working with other members of the team, you will support Project Managers in communications with clients and will assist in the management of quality, budget, scope and schedule as well as technical performance on projects. You will work closely with the business group project delivery leadership or other senior project manager /operations leaders who provide oversight and mentoring.

During your time with us, you will play key roles through all phases of project planning, execution, and closeout, consistent with established project delivery processes to meet the scope, schedule, budget and other specified requirements stated in the contract, act as a technical resource for a variety of civil, water, sanitary and storm water systems, as well as be actively involved in business development activities leading to the award of contract, which includes client relationship development, project-specific positioning activities, and proposal preparation.

You will be working mainly from home (unless you prefer coming into one of our offices), with the expectation to travel for client /site meetings and occasional team meetings.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (or applicable discipline and/or equivalent experience)

  • P.Eng. designation in Ontario or eligibility to receive it within 12 months

  • 5-8 years’ experience, with at least 3 years in an engineering consulting environment

  • Previous demonstrated experience delivering municipal conveyance projects

  • Valid driver’s license and a car to drive to the sites as required

Ideally you'll also have:

  • Strong theoretical knowledge and experience in sewer (combined, wastewater, and/or storm applications) and watermain design, hydraulic design, and grading design

  • Experience in preliminary design and detailed design of municipal conveyance projects, preferably for municipalities in the Ottawa area.

  • Experience in contract administration /construction management of municipal conveyance projects, preferably for municipalities in the Ottawa area.

  • Experience of local, provincial and federal regulatory permits and approval requirements associated with municipal conveyance projects

  • Experience with property requirements, utility and agency coordination for municipal conveyance projects

  • Proven experience leading project teams and delivering municipal conveyance design and construction projects.

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills

  • Excellent report writing skills
