Thesuccessful candidate participates in the design of civil, environmental, waterresources and water and waste water pipeline projects, including establishingdesign basis, development of alternative options and optimization of selecteddesign.
Theposition requires a candidate with the following skills:
Design of storm water, potable waterand wastewater pipelines and pumping stations
Hydraulic modeling of stormwater anddistribution / collection system operations
Planning and review of storm water,water and wastewater infrastructure improvements
Preparation of specifications andoperating instructions for pipelines, valves, and other associated equipmentand utilities
Development of site plans and layoutsfor site drainage, access and utilities for the assigned projects
Participation in civil,environmental, water resources and utility projects as needed
Participation in planning, costdevelopment and management, and scheduling for assigned projects
Directing of activities to ensurethat construction, installation, and operational testing conform to functionalspecifications, recognized codes and standards, and client requirements
Maintaining of effectivecommunication, verbally and written, with project team members, regulatoryagencies, and with the client
Works under minimal supervision, workis reviewed for adequacy on completion
Comprehensive understanding ofprinciples, theories, concepts, and industry practices and standards and theirapplication
Providing of some technical guidanceto less experienced design and engineering personnel
Responsibility for performing allaspects of engineering and design
7-15 years of experience is required
BS or MS in an engineering discipline is required
Excellent oral and written communication skills required
Successful completion of PE exam required
Florida Professional Engineering registration or the ability to obtain Florida Professional Engineering registration within 90 days is required
Advanced MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) required
