Your Impact:

The Training Developer will work with the Government project leads in identifying the appropriate design and development strategy to meet specific learning requirements. The Training Developer will design and develop training materials to incorporate content changes identified by Government leads and content subject matter experts. The Training Developer will lead and guide contractor project work teams in the implementation of design/development strategy. The Training Developer will coordinate all work with the on-site Government Curriculum Manager.

Here’s What You’ll Need:


  • Master's in Education, Instructional Systems Design, Educational Technology or Curriculum Development, and four (4) years of experience within the last eight (8) in instructional systems design or adult education and training development.

  • ** In lieu of the Masters’ degree, a Bachelor’s degree in Education, Instructional Systems Design, Educational Technology or Curriculum Development, with an additional two (2) years of instructional systems design or adult education and training development experience for a total of six (6) years within the last ten (10) years is acceptable.

  • Consult with Government project leads to identify training development requirements

  • Recommend learning solutions and learning modalities based on analysis of training goals, training objectives, and determine the appropriate training delivery methods

  • Lead the design and development of the end product learning solution IAW the approved strategy

  • Coordinate content changes with training content developers

  • Plan, prioritize, organize, and coordinate curriculum development

  • Develop conceptual documents and other documentation to support learning solutions

  • Develop learning solution documentation (e.g., storyboards, job aids, design plan documents)

  • Apply industry best practices in adult learning principles and theories to the design of course content, instructor materials and student materials

  • Organize information into hierarchies, flows, taxonomies, or other structures to clearly convey information to learners

  • Develop formative and summative evaluation tools

  • Respond to customer service inquiries, communicate and present information orally

  • Aggregate and analyze customer and student feedback and other metrics regarding the success of course content

  • TS/SCI w/ Poly clearance required.

Essential Functions

Physical Requirements

Requires sitting for extended periods of time at a desk (90%). Requires sitting at a computer terminal for long periods of time (90%). There is a possibility that due to parking availability and location of work area walking moderate to long distances can sometimes be required.

Work Environment

Inside office/cubicle environment. Requires ability to interact professionally with co-workers and all levels of management (100%).

Equipment and Machines

Requires ability to operate a personal computer, a telephone, copier, and other general office equipment (100%). Ability to conduct evaluation of third and fourth generation or current state of the art computer hardware and software and its ability to support specific requirements, interfacing with other equipment and systems.


Attendance is critical. Work hours are normally 8 hours per day and 5 days per week, Monday through Friday. Being prompt is important to provide continuous and on-going service to customers. Attendance is important to maintain continuity of service. Work outside of normal duty hours may be required with as little as one hour advance notice. Overtime is infrequent, but important when required (1%).

Other Essential Functions

Must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing. Must be able to interface with individuals at all levels of the organization. Must be able to obtain unescorted access to work areas. Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others.
