Your Impact:

At Jacobs, our Power Solutions team is geared towards providing a more integrated approach offering end-to-end service to support our clients in energy networks, thermal generation, renewable generation, and the storage solutions space. We are helping our clients meet the challenges faced in countries and cities across the globe, providing innovative solutions from replacing conventional thermal power plants with renewable energy to developing demand side management strategies.  

Our Power Generation and Storage Solutions team is seeking technical leaders in the electrical power generation and storage space who can motivate and drive Jacobs's highly talented and diversified team. You will ideally have significant experience operating as Senior/Lead/Principal Electrical Engineer in the Power Generation Sector. Our ideal candidate will have expert knowledge of engineering standards, codes, and systems, and able to deliver to our client’s expectations.

You will be responsible for:

  • Delivering technically excellent electrical engineering designs and consultancy services for the Power Generation and Storage Solutions Team.

  • Carrying out independent design/review/assurance on Projects.

  • Driving business development, identifying opportunities, and supporting winning opportunities

  • Developing and maintaining strong key client relationships – acting as a trusted advisor to a select group of Jacobs’ key clients across public and private sectors

  • Developing Jacobs’ Electrical Power Generation capabilities and reputation in Australia and New Zealand by representing Jacobs’s at key thought leadership events

  • Collaborating closely with Jacobs’s client management team to identify emerging opportunities

  • Managing projects; delivering on cost, on time, and resulting in client satisfaction.

  • Facilitating the technical development of more junior members of the electrical engineering team and support staff

  • Engaging with high performers in a team environment to facilitate knowledge sharing and coaching

  • Promoting safety culture within the organisation and with our clients

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • A bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, or equivalent

  • Accredited with Engineers Australia or can gain accreditation immediately

  • Significant experience operating as Senior/Lead/Principal Electrical Engineer in the Power Generation Sector i.e. coal, gas, CCGT, hydro, renewables, BESS, oil and gas, or other similar process industries. Confidence in directly liaising with clients, leading meetings, building relationships, developing business, and securing new opportunities with existing and new clients

  • Strong coaching and mentoring abilities
