About the Opportunity

You will join our Water and Catchment Management (WCM) team and will play a major role in supporting our vast client base through managing or delivering flood risk management projects within our extensive portfolio. You will apply your technical knowledge (project management or river engineering) in supervising, coordinating, and supporting junior staff.

As a Team Lead you will have an important leadership role in WCM. You will be accountable for the overall operational management and performance leadership of our dynamic, multi-disciplinary team in Peterborough. This will include:

  • The health and safety of your team

  • Strategic direction and growth of the team

  • Team structure and organisation

  • The pastoral care and development of talent in the team

  • Input into the strategic decisions that affect the national team and support the overarching initiatives and requirements of the Water, Energy and Environment Leadership Team.

This varied role will ensure that no two days are ever the same! You will have the opportunity to manage, support and drive delivery of interesting and innovative projects and collaborate with experts in the area of river engineering alongside the leadership of a dynamic team.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • Degree relevant to the water environment

  • Chartered or Incorporated through a relevant Professional Institution

  • Understanding of the technical work undertaken in the flood risk management sector

  • Able to operate autonomously, developing and building relationships

  • People and resources management skills

  • Knowledge of working private and public sector clients

  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills

  • Able to identify client requirements and scope wider business opportunities

  • Understanding of the NEC contract form
