Working alongside construction managers, field supervisory personnel, and owner representative partners and stakeholders, you’ll gain exposure on how to assess (HSE) qualified contractors prior to award, what it takes to setup and mobilize a project site, team, and logistics program successfully, how to prepare new vendors to work safely at our projects and assimilate and contribute to our BeyondZero Culture, and how to manage and support them in the safe delivery of quality projects to our clients.

Essential Functions:

This role will entail a large portion of the week in the field overseeing and/or auditing construction operations. There may also be administrative duties associated with your role during the week, but all will be construction operation centric. Intermittent sitting, walking, standing, bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, twisting, and lifting. Lifting requirements limited to 20 lbs. in the form of supplies, drawings, etc. Longest distance carried of 50 feet. Hand manipulation is required for simple grasping, pushing and pulling, and fine manipulation. Right and/or left hands utilized. During inspections and audits, occasional need to reach and/or work above the shoulder, as well as below the shoulder for same. Walking, standing, climbing stairs or ladders for extended periods during field audits. Must be alert to equipment in the field, there will be occasional travel, will work near construction job site equipment when in the field, occasional need to work near hazardous equipment and machinery, occasional need to walk on uneven ground. Potential exposure to dust, gas or fumes, exposure to noise is possible but will be risk assessed and mitigation strategies to comply with OSHA will be provided. Extremes in temperature or humidity can be applicable, and potential work at heights with fall protection systems in conformance with OSHA and Jacobs/site requirements provided. Professional and courteous interaction and problem solving with a cross section of construction site personnel from Jacobs’ construction team members, subcontractor foremen and craft, as well as owners representatives to be anticipated.

Here’s what you’ll need:

· In pursuit of a Bachelors degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, Fire Safety, Construction Management with HSE and/or a risk mitigation background

· Experience with Microsoft Products including Excel, Word, and Powerpoint

· Valid driver’s license with no major infractions

· OSHA 10 or 30 hour Construction Safety course complete in

Ideally, you’ll also have:

  • 3.0 GPA

  • At least a rising Senior

  • A previous internship related to your field of study
