Job Summary:

Jacobs is seeking an enthusiastic environmental professional to support our NEPA planning work. As a member of a supportive team of environmental peers, you will assist with conducting analyses in support of NEPA, ESA, CWA and other applicable regulations. The candidate must demonstrate solid technical writing skills, an understanding of environmental compliance documents, excellent organizational skills, and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. The candidate will function as environmental task support for NEPA and environmental (biological/cultural/Clean Water Act) technical specialists. This position involves working as a part of a team of people supporting projects across the southwestern United States. This position is located in Phoenix, AZ, and could include period travel.

Responsibilities:

  • Work under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member.

  • Conduct research on a variety of subjects to support document preparation.

  • Write and edit reports.

  • Participate in public outreach efforts.

  • Collect and compile information required for meeting agendas, committee reports, and presentations; assist with drafting these types of documents

Qualifications

  • A maximum of 5 years of experience is required; if no experience, must be a recent grad with some internship experience.

  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills required

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel) software is required; Experience with ArcGIS is preferred

  • Valid driver’s license and safe driving record required

  • Exceptional writing and verbal skills and ability to work in a collaborative team approach internally and externally is required

  • Ability to manage scope, schedule and budgets effectively is required

  • Ability to produce high quality work products that meet and exceed client expectations required

  • Background knowledge of the National Environmental Policy Act requirements and processes is required

  • Ability to travel locally and nationally to support project work is required
