Senior Environmental Engineer

A highly motivated Environmental Consultant (Engineer or Geologist preferred) with a minimum of 10 years’ experience with environmental investigations, contaminated land characterisation, soil and groundwater remediation and project management is sought. Experience with multi-national corporations is an asset and good interpersonal skills and international experience are requirements. Successful candidates will be educated to degree or post-graduate level in a relevant science, geosciences, engineering or environmental technical subject.

Fluent spoken and written English is mandatory. Clients and team are international and working knowledge of other languages is also beneficial. Technical specialisation in hydrogeology, contaminated land remediation or remedial engineering would be a plus. The candidate should have solid experience contributing to groundwater monitoring plans, environmental site investigations and contaminated land remediation projects in Poland.


Responsibilities within the role will include the ability to lead and work effectively within and manage project teams, and contribute to deliverables (with a focus on environmental site investigations and contaminated land remediation demonstrating also a technical knowledge and proficiency in these areas), management of client relationships, budget control, and co-ordination of in-house and external specialists and contractors. The candidate would have flexible balance of technical and management skills and be expected to contribute to proposals and manage teams for project delivery. A high level of communication skills, both written and verbal will be required.

The successful candidate must have initiative, energy, enthusiasm and commitment and be flexible in work approach. Some travel to project sites and meeting would be required, though the primary work location will be Krakow/Warsaw. Responsibility for maintaining project teams that safely delivering quality work is key.


Good people skills, ability to work remotely with project teams, experience with multi-national clients and contaminated land and soil and groundwater remediation plus the following attributes:

  • Educational background in a science, geosciences, environmental or engineering related discipline

  • Minimum 10 years of related project experience

  • Direct experience related to contaminated site characterization and remediation engineering / techniques

  • Understanding of Human health risk assessment and risk-based decision making with a focus on sustainability an asset

  • Proven experience in the application of national and regional environmental legislation in Poland – working knowledge of EIA process will be additional asset

  • Task or project management experience will be an asset

  • Awareness of main field H&S topics and procedures

  • Fluent spoken and written English is required;

  • Ability and willingness to periodically travel and support work at project sites (up to approximately 25%)

  • Good interpersonal skills
