Support our Advanced Facilities group by designing some of the most complex and specialized facilities being constructed today, including projects for semiconductor manufacturing, data centers, and other state of the art manufacturing facilities and have a hand in transforming tomorrow.
As a Mid-Level Structural Designer, you willbe part of a fast-paced team focused on designing Advanced Facilities such as semiconductor manufacturing plants, data centers, and similar state of the art structures. Working with other designers and engineers of our multi-discipline team, you’ll convey structural requirements to the construction team through traditional 2D paper deliverables and/or BIM 3D Revit models. You will work closely with clients and construction trade partners as you develop design concepts, create models from scratch, and coordinate designs to consider existing conditions and other disciplines.
You will be expected to:1) be highly proficient in 3D modeling using Revit; 2) create conceptual structural models based on verbal direction or rough sketches; 3) coordinate work with related disciplines to resolve problems and avoid clashes; 4) focus on quality, ensuring conformance with established structural standards, project standards, and project delivery processes; and 5) perform field walks, which may include climbing ladders and walking/standing for extended periods of time.
Additionally, this position may require you to serve as a Lead Structural Designer for a small project.In this capacity, you will be further expected to:1) provide leadership for a small team of designers, establishing project standards and procedures, training and developing your team, and building and maintaining team morale; 2) coordinate the work of the designer team, assigning work, balancing workloads, monitoring progress towards deadlines, and ensuring quality standards are met; 3) coordinate work executed out of remote offices; 4) take responsibility for internal, cross-discipline, and external project reviews; and 5) attend project meetings and take an active role to help team resolve concerns and solve problems across all disciplines.
The minimum qualifications for this position are:
High School diploma or equivalent
5 to 10 years drafting/designer experience in the structural field
1 years Revit experience
3 years AutoCAD experience
Experience working on traditional steel and concrete structures
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and experience:
3 years Revit experience
Experience in the semiconductor industry or general industrial facilities
Experience with Navisworks and Bluebeam
Experience leading a team of Designers
