Jacobs is seeking a Regional Project Planner/Scheduler to join our team. In this position, you'll be responsible to plan and schedule work, primarily using a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) or other work order system, for water treatment plants, wastewater treatment plants, pump stations, lift stations, buildings, and other related facilities to improve efficiency, quality, and productivity in work. You'll be responsible for the effective execution of all maintenance work control processes. Performing in a lead capacity, incumbents are required to develop a safe, effective, and efficient work control plan through proper planning and scheduling of work for various crafts including Operations and Maintenance Technicians, Electricians, Instrumentation and Control Specialists, and other classifications including outside contractors/vendors. In addition, you'll be expected to monitor the technical performance of the CMMS or other work order system and make any necessary recommendations to ensure that best-in class standardized usage practices are followed. The nature of the work is such that considerable independence is allowed in directing the work through the system. Performance is evaluated through observation, conferences, reports, and feedback from plant staff and clients.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Obtains and organizes all information required for the work being performed. (drawings, vendor manuals, supplemental materials, special procedures, diagrams, etc.). Develop and maintain work records in a file system for past assignments and use past work plans as a resource for future work

  • Balances scheduled work orders with labor availability and skillets.

  • Maintains and monitors backlog for adherence to industry standards.

  • Maintains and monitors a weekly schedule for all crafts.

  • Prepares requisitions in the CMMS or other work order system to ensure materials, parts, labor, and other charges are allocated to the appropriate work order.

  • Verifies all material, information, tools, and labor are available prior to scheduling work.

  • Identify opportunities for optimizing spare part usage to maximize inventory control through regular turnover, without using critical spares for routine maintenance thus reducing risk to the project.

  • Coordinates maintenance needs with operations group to minimize downtime.

  • Estimates and defines requirements for total labor, materials, special tools, equipment, and skill sets, for all work including complex projects such as plant shutdown, plant improvement projects, etc.

  • Implements and maintains a maintenance strategy plan for assigned work locations.

  • Plans and schedules workload for Regional Maintenance Teams, maintain work calendars and availability of Regional Maintenance Technicians for project support.

  • Prepares and presents comprehensive reports on work order metrics.

  • Establishes and maintains advanced work planning for capital improvement and job order contract projects.

  • Participates in contingency planning during emergency response events.

  • Uses critical path methods and other planning methods to coordinate and optimizes workflow.

  • Assists with review of requests for proposal, contracts for maintenance, and similar documents for accuracy, approach, and requirements.

  • Develops, evaluates, and implements detailed SOP’s (standard operating procedures},

  • Reviews, corrects, and confirms all CMMS data for accuracy.

  • Maintains regular and reliable attendance on the job

  • Performs related work as required.

  • Use the Maintenance Resource Guide for standard method guidance, participate in regular review/revisions to keep the Guide relevant

Working knowledge:

  • Working knowledge of the standard methods, tools and materials used in the maintenance and/or construction trades for water & wastewater facilities.

  • Familiar with the operations related systems (SCADA, Compliance, regulatory permits.

  • Thorough understanding of the capabilities, limitations, and functions of CMMS. Knowledge of computerized maintenance management practices and work order practices.

  • Skilled in the use of computer applications (Office, MS Excel, Access, and Word).

  • Skilled in the use of tools and equipment of the maintenance and/or construction trades.

  • Skill in estimating materials and labor required for maintenance and construction functions.

  • Ability to schedule large volumes of work and recognize the critical path for tasks and projects.

  • Ability to work from sketches, blueprints, diagrams, and oral instructions.

  • Ability to collect, collate, analyze, and manipulate data to make recommendations on technical matters and management reports.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

  • Ability to serve the public and fellow employees with honesty and integrity.

  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the client, the general public, coworkers, elected and appointed officials.

  • Ability to travel/walk to job sites to develop work plans with technicians and management

Here’s what you’ll need :

  • Five (5) combined years’ experience in a maintenance related field as a technician, planner, and/or management

  • Five (5) years’ experience in the use of a CMMS, EAMS and/or planning/scheduling type software program

  • Ability to travel up to 25%

  • Must have a valid driver's license with no major infractions

Ideally, You'll Also Have:

  • High School Graduate

  • 2-year technical degree in a maintenance related field

  • CMRP or CRL certification

  • 5 years of maintenance planning / scheduling experience

  • RCM, FMEA, RCFA experience

  • Experience with Maintenance Connection™ Software

  • Certificate of completion of a Maintenance Planning & Scheduling training course
