Jacobs is seeking a Licensed Lead Water Operator to join our collaborative team in Arizona. As the Lead Operator you’ll work with project staff to oversee the operations, compliance reporting, maintenance of equipment and quality control testing. Partnering with other team members and our client you’ll apply knowledge of the principles, methods and tools employed in the general operation of pumps, valves, motors and related equipment, water process control, permit compliance, and safe work practices. You’ll also have the opportunity to: monitor, record and operate the 13 small water systems; diagnose operating problems and direct effective correction procedures; prepare required reports and maintain complete recordkeeping procedures; analyze recording instrument readings and laboratory test results and adjust various plant processes accordingly; perform plant inspections to determine efficiency of operations, cleanliness, and maintenance activities including remedial action in emergencies; supervise, evaluate and train employees and perform other duties as required.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • Arizona Water Treatment Level 1 Certification and ability to obtain a level 3 within 1 year.

  • Arizona Water Distribution Level 2 Certification ability to obtain a level 3 within 1 year.

  • Three years of progressive experience in water treatment and distribution of well systems

  • Be self-motivated with the ability to work or support any of the 13 small groundwater water treatment and distributions in Arizona

  • Able to travel up to 50%

  • Valid State Driver’s License with no major infractions

Ideally, You’ll Also Have:

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Knowledge and experience in the principles and practices of water treatment and distribution operations; general maintenance; effects and safe work practices.

  • Fundamentals of preparing and executing budgets

  • Experience in compliance monitoring and reporting

  • Proficiency or knowledge of computer software including but not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, data management systems

  • Experience in utilizing CMMS Programs for preventive and corrective maintenance.

  • Demonstrated ability to engage and motivate teams and to respond to emergency situations
