Jacobs CI Specialist (Countersurveillance/Surveillance Detection Course), Mid in Quantico, Virginia

Your Impact:

Provides training and instruction expertise focusing on planning, developing, and executing countersurveillance in support of surveillance detection to protect personnel and operations. Course participants develop a solid background in the areas of surveillance methodologies, countersurveillance mission planning and execution, and surveillance detection techniques and execution.

The specialist assigned to support this course will deliver classroom-based instruction and assess student performance in field exercises that frequently exceed an 8-hour day, includes weekends, and requires travel within the NCR and CONUS.

Duties/Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Be able to communicate effectively orally and in writing and shall be able to speak clearly enough to instruct, evaluate and counsel students in the subtle and difficult concepts of the subject matter.

  • Deliver, evaluate, synchronize, and manage blocks of instruction for their assigned course while adhering with established DoD and Community standards for CI training and JCITA policies and procedures.

  • Assess/evaluate student mastery of learning objectives using verbal and written formats in accordance with established course standards, procedures, and grading rubrics.

  • Engage in research and analysis to maintain subject matter currency and relevancy to contribute to the updating of course materials and documentation.

  • Create course materials to include: training task inventory, program of instruction, lesson plans, syllabus, schedule, exercises, rubrics/student performance assessments, resource materials, examinations, job aids, knowledge-based prerequisites, and distributed learning materials.

  • Maintain a level of professionalism by dressing in business attire, being a team player, and displaying flexibility.

  • Be familiar with adult learning principles, facilitation techniques, and the Instructional System Design (ISD) process to assist in the design of courses, scenarios, and practical exercises.

  • Mentor and coach students to mastery while upholding established course standards.

  • Must be a graduate of one of the following: JCITA CI Surveillance Course (CSC), JCITA Countersurveillance Surveillance Detection Course

(CSSDC), Advanced Foreign Counterintelligence Training Course (AFCITC), or an Intelligence Community, Federal or State Law Enforcement school equivalent.

  • Must have a minimum of five (5) years’ experience conducting surveillance and countersurveillance.

  • Must be able to sit and stand for up to four (4) hours at one time, and be able to walk for up to seven (7) miles in one day.

  • Possess a valid US driver’s license and must have working experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).

  • TS/SCI with Polygraph
