About the Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Project Manager to join our client facing team delivering projects in AWE. The successful candidates will become part of a respected and ambitious company’s contribution to an integrated project team venture engaged in the whole life development and implementation of infrastructure improvements across the site. These roles carry excellent career prospects and are full time to 2024 and beyond.

Due to the varied nature of the potential work, the candidates are required to be familiar with project development stages from concept through to detailed design and construction / implementation using the linear integrated project lifecycle stages set by the client (APM equivalent).

The successful candidates will be flexible, knowledgeable and willing and able to function both within the team and independently as required. They will also already have an appreciation of Client / Site specific process and procedures and experience of working successfully within them.

These roles require management of “develop, design and build” projects to provide facility improvements within an operational nuclear licensed site as part of a focussed programme of development, including:

  • Establishment and leadership and delivery of the project’s requirements in concept phase through to delivery phase.

  • Engagement with client and customer stakeholders and internal stakeholders.

  • Management of the project through the client’s investment governance processes.

Here’s what you’ll need :

Experience/Qualifications:

  • Degree qualified in appropriate engineering or management subject and membership of a relevant professional body such as the APM or an engineering institution is preferred.

  • Understanding and experience of project and programme management and leadership and understanding of concept design and development processes and their governance and stage gates.

  • Understanding of design and construction including CDM2015 regulations within the nuclear environment.

  • Proven knowledge of and understanding of the significance of working to quality and assurance standards ISO9001/140001 within the nuclear setting.

  • Awareness of UK Health and Safety Legislation. Information concerning specific company safety, quality and security procedures will be provided in-post.

  • Superior interpersonal and leadership skills are required to enable effective interaction with clients, seniors and peers while working in a collaborative “Team” environment.

  • Evidence of experience in a similar project management and leadership role within a programme management environment is preferred.

  • Evidence of experience within a similarly highly regulated and complex environment is desirable.
