The selected candidate is expected to provide executive support for the Jacobs Chief Technology and Innovation Officer (CTIO), Senior Vice President (SVP) and Vice President (VP). The candidate must:

  • Communicate directives and information from CTIO, SVP and VP to executives, managers and others in the organization and follows up on the status of action items.

  • Contact or reply to contacts on behalf of the CTIO, SVP and VP which may involve unique situations, and each contact must be handled differently, using judgment and discretion.

  • Possess the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization and exercise confidentiality, tact and diplomacy.

  • Write and update correspondence requiring knowledge of executive's views, philosophy, and some understanding of business matters.

  • Perform editing and/or rewriting of reports and documents for approval.

  • Determine consistency and clarity of style within reports.

  • Develop, analyzes, and maintains very complex and detailed spreadsheets.

  • Possess the ability to manage special assignments to ensure on-time completion according to specifications and within budgeted costs.

  • Recommend alternative solutions to management as to courses of action that best meet the organization's goals.

  • Have a good understanding of organization's policies and procedures and be able to navigate multiple systems to perform duties.

  • Manage a wide variety of complex situations and conflicts of the office that do not require the attention of the CTIO, SVP and VP.

  • Independently act on correspondence that does not require the attention of management.

  • Identify, enhance and follows specific processes and procedures to maximize the efficiencies of the business to which the support is being provided.

  • Receive, screen and directs incoming calls, visitors, mail and e-mail.

  • Maintain files, records, and calendars; typically arranges business travel, coordinates meeting arrangements, and tracks expenses.


  • Requires superior oral and written communication skills and analytical capability.

  • General office duties include multiple telephone lines, personal computers, fax, copiers and scanners.

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office suite is crucial.

  • Organizational skills and the ability to multitask are essential, as are self-motivation, critical thinking skills, and decision-making skills.

  • Familiarity with standard office equipment and proper office procedures.

  • A secret level clearance is preferred.


BA or BS degree in Business Administration, Business Management, or appropriate discipline from an accredited college or university, plus six (6) to nine (9) years of progressive and relevant experience. Additional relevant experience may be substituted for a portion of the educational requirement.
