Jacobs Technology is seeking a Firewall Engineer with a TS/SCI Polygraph Clearance to work at a customer site in the Reston, VA area.
Provides senior level network design, implementation, and troubleshooting support for multiple security and network products/applications including installation of new hardware and software
Provides technical support and assistance with client specialists that plan, coordinate, and implement network security measures.
Review implementation tasks provide status back to team lead or project managers on daily progress.
Apply software and hardware standards in the analysis, specification, development, integration, and acquisition of network security systems for Information Technology (IT) applications.
Participate in multiple boards and provide technical reviews of new designs prior implementation.
Review customers’ requests for new products, services, or additions to the network and assess impact on network performance and provide advice and guidance on the most practical technical approach to meeting customers’ requirements.
Must have active TS SCI Polygraph required
Bachelorof Science degree in Information Technology, IT Security, Network SystemsTechnology or related field or equivalent experience plus eight (8) to twelve(12) years of directly related experience or any equivalent combination ofeducation, experience, training and certifications.
Must be able to lift 75lbs. (Bending, stopping, stretching and kneeling)
Must be able to interface with individuals at all levels of the organization both verbally and in writing
Must take and pass a drug test and background check
Must be able to maintain regular, reliable attendance and ensure on time daily arrival
Must have a valid driver’s license as the candidate may have to travel to locations within a 400 mile radius.
Coordinate requirements with users and suppliers
Organize and direct network installations on site surveys
Assess and document current site network configuration and user requirements.
Design and optimize network topologies.
Provides reports on critical systems and high mission impact items.
Prepares documentation for the customer on an as needed basis
Assist with training other employees on a periodic basis
Proficiency in the useof Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and SharePoint).
Experience with the following network security hardware: ForcePoint Sidewinder, Cisco ASA/WSA/ESA, Palo Alto Networks
Applicant should have a working knowledge of DNS implementation and troubleshooting
Palo Alto Accredited Configuration Engineer (ACE)
Cisco CCNA or CCNP
Most work will be done at a desk or computer.
General Office environment. The work environment is fast-paced and sometimes involves extreme deadline pressures. The nature of the work requires a high degree of teamwork and cooperation with other members of the staff as well as individuals across the Company and Customers.
Equipment & Machines:
General office equipment including PC/laptop, Thin Clients, Firewalls, Servers, Routers, Switches, Fax, Copiers, Shredder, Printers, Telephone, and other miscellaneous office equipment.
Attendance is critical at all times. Must be able to work a 40-hour workweek, normally Monday through Friday. However, times and days may vary depending on business requirements. Needs to be available to work overtime during critical peaks and be available to meet last minute requests for overtime should the situation occur.
