Your Impact:

  • Prepare and Process monthly journal entries such as Prepaid, Maintenance, Accruals, Leases-ASC 842, Intercompany, Depreciation, and others to the general ledger and ensure accuracy and compliance with government regulations and JACOBS policies and procedures

  • Prepare Balance Sheet monthly account reconciliations, research discrepancies and prepare adjusting journal entries

  • Maintain and update Fixed Assets spreadsheet

  • Submit capital asset reports to Corporate for disposals, transfers, impairments & removal from service

  • Process Corporate Extract monthly

  • Participate and ensure an accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and year end close

  • Monitor and analyze general ledger processes to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy

  • Respond to inquiries regarding financial results, variances, and other special requests

  • Support Accounts Payable department by creating and updating vendors, maintain w9, supplier setup forms, approvals, and other confidential information for audit purposes

  • Support Project Control Analysts by linking sub-contractors to vendor ID’s

  • Participate in Quarterly Vendor Audit Trail

  • Update Company Calendar in Costpoint

  • Run and Post monthly recurring Journal Entries

  • Prepare and provide monthly sub-contractor hours report for Business Review meeting

  • Monitor US Bank cardholder accounts, send payment reminders for past dues and verify balances for termed employees

  • Create check requests as needed for company dues

  • Provide support as needed to external/internal auditors

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • BBA in Accounting, and three (3) years of professional level accounting and finance experience.

  • Need an understanding of GAAP and basic accounting principles

  • Experience with Time & Expense Deltek, Costpoint, Cognos Impromptu, or reporting query tools

  • Documented high degree of proficiency with MS Office Suite, web-based applications and databases (specifically Excel). Skill in financial modeling and use of advanced spreadsheet functions

  • Ability to effectively and efficiently operate in a dynamic and fast-paced, deadline oriented environment

  • Ability to work well with other functional departments

  • Excellent communication skills (Written and oral); able to effectively interact with associates at all levels.

  • Possession of excellent organizational, multi-tasking, analytical, and problem-solving skills

  • Ability to learn new tasks and concepts quickly while in fast paced, dynamic environment.

  • Self-Motivated Team Player but able to work independently.

  • Drive process improvement and identify opportunities for cost savings

  • Prepares ad hoc reports and analyses, as requested

  • Responsible for reading, understanding, and following the applicable process narratives pertaining to Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) requirements

  • Knowledge of Government compliance issues, specifically related to FAR/DAR regulations

  • Exposure to consolidations, currency translation, and international accounting and reporting issues

Essential Functions

Physical Requirements:

Most work will be done at a desk or computer.

Work Environment:

General Office environment. The work environment is fast-paced and sometimes involves extreme deadline pressures. The nature of the work requires a high degree of teamwork and cooperation with other members of the staff as well as individuals across the Company and Customers.

Equipment & Machines:

General office equipment including PC/laptop, Fax, Copiers, Shredder, Printers, Telephone, and other miscellaneous office equipment.

Attendance:

Attendance is critical at all times. Must be able to work a 40-hour workweek, normally Monday through Friday. However, times and days may vary depending on business requirements. Needs to be available to work overtime during critical peaks and be available to meet last minute requests for overtime should the situation occur.

Other Essential Functions:

Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others. Must put forward a professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation.

Must be able to interface with individuals at all levels of the organization both verbally and in writing. Must be well-organized with the ability to coordinate and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously. Must work well under pressure to meet deadline requirements. Must be willing to travel as needed. Must take and pass a drug test and background check as well as a motor vehicle records check. Must be a US citizen.
