Jacobs currently has an opening for an IT Project Manager to join their team at the their customer site in Reston, VA. Duties will include:
Plan, direct, and coordinate Network IT service requests
Perform day-to-day project management for Network IT services to include Ethernet transport technology and/or fiber based carrier
Services can be both long-term strategic developments and/or short-term tactical efforts
Perform horizontal integration planning and interface with other functional areas, ensuring that technical solutions and schedules are implemented in a timely manner
Work with in-house engineers and installers for all projects
Accountable for establishing and maintaining customer communications in multiple formats, ensuring customer expectations are set and kept, and following up with task closures for all projects assigned
Responsible for using and maintaining Sponsor IT project records databases and systems of record - such as a Sponsor's Help Desk Suite
Provide project management to Network IT service requests to include, but not limited to:
Working with various partner and customer groups to coordinate and monitor service installations
Documenting projects on Sponsor systems, and;
Communicating with customers and managing expectations;
Setting & maintaining schedules;
Working with engineers for technical solutions;
Electing job plans;
Accepting tasks within the Sponsor's Help Desk Suite;
Active TS/SCI with Poly Required
Bachelor’s degree in a Computer Science, Information Technology or related field or equivalent experience and ten (10) to fourteen (14) years of directly related experience or any equivalent combination of education, experience, training and certifications
Ten (10) plus years of demonstrated experience and/or formal education with IT Network PM work and/or Sponsor's Partner IT work
Demonstrated Wide Area Network (WAN) project experience with requirements, control gate, briefings, customer service, and risk mitigation strategies
Demonstrated experience with developing project plans and schedules using project management tools
Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, and Outlook
Demonstrated Wide Area Network (WAN) experience with Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) to develop, document, track, evaluate, and execute required network changes and alterations
Most work will be done at a desk or computer.
General Office environment. The work environment is fast-paced and sometimes involves extreme deadline pressures. The nature of the work requires a high degree of teamwork and cooperation with other members of the staff as well as individuals across the Company and Customers.
Equipment & Machines:
General office equipment including PC/laptop, Fax, Copiers, Shredder, Printers, Telephone, and other miscellaneous office equipment.
Attendance is critical at all times. Must be able to work a 40-hour workweek, normally Monday through Friday. However, times and days may vary depending on business requirements. Needs to be available to work overtime during critical peaks and be available to meet last minute requests for overtime should the situation occur.

Must take and pass a drug test and background check as well as a motor vehicle records check. Must be a US citizen.
