Jacobs is seeking a Network Engineer Expert with an active TS/SCI Poly Clearance. This position is located in Reston, VA. Responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate deployment of Enterprise security tools that protect the network from connection by unauthorized devices.

  • Plan the architecture for integration into the Enterprise network, using knowledge of the performance characteristics of the systems being added to the network and the specifications for network interfaces to ensure effective integration and optimal network performance.

  • Provide support to project teams that have network connected systems to ensure that all approved systems receive appropriate levels of network access.

  • Evaluate new network technologies and make recommendations to project managers regarding the integration of these technologies into the existing network.

  • Plan deployment strategy for implementing the security framework in remote locations and on other associated network.

  • Monitor network security tool dashboards to ensure network ability to all system users and perform necessary maintenance to support network availability.

  • Maintain network security tool lab and production virtual instances. Supervise other network support and client server specialists and plan, coordinate, and implement network security measures.

  • Provide support in the translation of security business requirements into network requirements, designs and orders.

  • Complete system design, test plans, user manuals, and other documentation as required by projects

  • Project documentation including concept, design, deployment, user and O&M guides

  • Project status briefing for presentation to senior management

  • Process flow diagrams to document procedures for working new tools into the Entreprise environment

  • Plan, coordinate, and implement network security measures in order to protect data, software, and hardware

  • Design, configure, and test computer hardware, networking software and operating system software

  • Perform long term O&M activities to include Tier 4 troubleshooting and problem resolution

  • Document troubleshooting procedures for operating and maintaining the network security solution

  • Maintain logs and records associated with reported problems or situations

  • Execute reporting functions and data input associated with network security

  • Design and optimize high-level network topologies and site configurationsCoordinate installations, transitions, and cutovers of network components and capabilities

  • Coordinate requirements with network security stakeholders and implementation paper

  • Asses and document current site network configuration and user requirements

  • Prepare technical proposals for presentation to the sponsor’s senior management team for adding new information assurance technologies to the network

Qualifications

  • Ability to obtain a TS/SCI Polygraph

  • BS degree in a computer or system science discipline from an accredited college or university and ten (10) to fourteen (14) years of progressive, relevant experience, or an MS degree in a computer or system science discipline and eight (8) to twelve (12) years of progressive experience, or a Ph.D. degree in a computer or system science discipline and four (4) to seven (7) years of progressive experience. Similar working level obtained through relevant job experience may be accepted in lieu of degree level education.

  • Experience in routing and switching

  • Preferred experience with one or more of the following: Palo Alto, F5, Cisco Firepower, Cisco ISE

  • Cloud Technology Experience preferred (i.e., AWS, VPC, S3, VMware)

  • Desired Certifications: Cisco Certified Network Associated (CCNA), Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), ITIL Foundation, & CCNA- Routing & Switching or CCIE

Essential Job Functions

Physical Requirements: Most work will be done at a desk or computer.

Work Environment: General Office environment. The work environment is fast-paced and sometimes involves extreme deadline pressures. The nature of the work requires a high degree of teamwork and cooperation with other members of the staff as well as individuals across the Company and Customers.

Equipment & Machines: General office equipment including PC/laptop, Fax, Copiers, Shredder, Printers, Telephone, and other miscellaneous office equipment.

Attendance: Critical at all times. Must be able to work a 40-hour workweek, normally Monday through Friday. However, times and days may vary depending on business requirements. Needs to be available to work overtime during critical peaks and be available to meet last minute requests for overtime should the situation occur.
