Your Impact:

The Buffalo Group, LLC, a JACOBS company is seeking Software Developers in order to support its government customer in Reston, VA. The program’s mission provides full stack development of DoD Intelligence Applications. The program has over 30 applications currently in development across over 10 Agile Teams. The ideal candidate will be familiar with the software development life cycle including the planning, design, development and implementation, deployment and maintenance stages. They also require an in-depth knowledge of different programming languages, frameworks and tools. Software Developers will know how to write elegant code based on product specifications and requirements. They should be familiar with testing, debugging and improving their code and the work of their team members to deliver products on schedule. The ability to learn new programming languages, collect feedback and improve existing software is a desirable quality in applicants. They also require a good understanding of algorithms, flow charts and mathematical concepts that form the basis of computer programming. This is a full-time position, and requires a TS/SCI Clearance and a recent Polygraph. The work will be both classified and unclassified allowing for some work from home flexibility in a hybrid work environment.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • Producing clean, efficient code based on specifications

  • Testing and deploying programs and systems

  • Fixing and improving existing software

  • Work with other developers to design algorithms and flowcharts

  • Integrate software components and third-party programs

  • Verify and deploy programs and systems

  • Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade existing software

  • Gather and evaluate user feedback

  • Recommend and execute improvements

  • Create technical documentation for reference and reporting

Qualifications :

  • Proven experience as a Software Developer, Software Engineer or similar role

  • Familiarity with Agile development methodologies

  • Experience with software design and development in a test-driven environment

  • Knowledge of below coding languages and frameworks/systems

  • Experience with below databases and ORM frameworks

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Resourcefulness and troubleshooting aptitude

  • Attention to detail

  • Hands on full stack development experience applying a mix of the following:

Physical Requirements:

Most work will be done at a desk or computer.

Work Environment:

General Office environment. The work environment is fast-paced and sometimes involves extreme deadline pressures. The nature of the work requires a high degree of teamwork and cooperation with other members of the staff as well as individuals across the Company and Customers.

Equipment & Machines:

General office equipment including PC/laptop, Fax, Copiers, Shredder, Printers, Telephone, and other miscellaneous office equipment.

Attendance:

Attendance is critical at all times. Must be able to work a 40-hour workweek, normally Monday through Friday. However, times and days may vary depending on business requirements. Needs to be available to work overtime during critical peaks and be available to meet last minute requests for overtime should the situation occur.

Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

Must take and pass a drug test and background check as well as a motor vehicle records check. Must be a US citizen
