Jacobs Water Engineer - Jackson, MS in Ridgeland, Mississippi
We're looking for a Water Engineer in Jackson, MS to help us implement and develop our lead and copper program. Jacobs leads the charge by providing a proactive and comprehensive lead and copper program for Jackson, MS and in your role as water compliance engineer you will play a critical part in delivering our various services to the client -
You will be responsible for coordination of testing at various sites impacted by lead and copper replacement.
You will help to manage the master schedule for the numerous activities related to the lead & copper program and as regulation emerges; you will be at the forefront of developing standard procedures, practices, and protocol to implement these requirements.
You will help to provide data management and QA/QC for the many types of data collected through the program.
You will be responsible for drafting reports and providing status updates to both external and internal parties.
You will have the opportunity to train, direct, and organize field technicians to provide regular testing and sample collection per regulations.
Lastly you will work in multi-disciplinary teams to help coordinate clients, contractors, other engineering firms and internal staff for the delivery of this critical program.

Bachelor’s degree in environmental, chemical, or civil engineering or other Biology/Chemistry related field
At least 2 years’ experience in a water/wastewater related field.
Water quality analyses background
Experience providing and receiving Quality Assurance and Quality Control reviews
Ideally, You’ll Also Have:
Strong communication skills both verbal and written
Forward thinking, eager to learn best practices, and contribute with innovative ideas
Ability to build out documentation/best practices/operating standards
Displayed ability to learn quickly and driven to broaden knowledge base
Ability to collaborate and work effectively in a variety of teams, including multi-disciplinary teams
Ability to adapt to changing regulations and moving targets
Working Conditions & Physical Requirements:
The physical and environmental demands required to perform the essential duties of this position include standing, walking, sitting, coordination, balance and agility demands, which may include the ability to stoop, kneel, squat, grasp, reach, perform repetitive hand movements. Additional demands may involve a specific level of dexterity, grip strength, climbing and cardiorespiratory demands. The work areas may be indoor, outdoor, have loud noise, active machinery, high pressure fluid systems, electrical equipment, confined spaces, heights and depths, fumes, air borne particles, noxious gases, and chemicals. The use of appropriate safety equipment will be mandatory in these areas to prevent hazardous contact.
