Heavily involved with ongoing urban planning projects
Creating analytical reports, technical documents and related materials
Interacting with government agency staff, performing field work, oral presentations, coordinating interagency efforts, designing and implementing public involvement plans
Responsibility for technical direction over a group of Planners or that functions as a technical specialist formulating and developing advanced planning concepts
Contributes to development of new techniques and standards; considered expert in organization
Develops processes that require innovation and ingenuity
Develops plans for utilization of land and physical facilities of cities, counties, and metropolitan areas, applying diverse knowledge of planning principles and practices
Compiles and analyzes data on economic, social, and physical factors affecting land use, and prepares or requisitions graphic and narrative reports on data
Confers with local authorities, civic leaders, social scientists, and land planning and development specialists to devise and recommend strategies for land use and physical facilities for residential, commercial, industrial, and community uses
May review and evaluate environmental impact reports applying to specified private and public planning projects and programs
Here’s What You’ll Need:
You should be experienced in working with or for KSA government agencies or organizations focused on policy or data gathering and analysis to shape policy and regulations. This will require demonstrated experience in data analysis and application to real planning issues, as well as a clear understanding of planning process and policy in relation to master planning at both a larger regional scale and a community development scale. You should be capable of taking the lead in dealing with stakeholders, gathering data, GIS-based data analysis and expressing clear recommendations in relation to strategic planning policy and regulations. You should have a broad knowledge of the requirements of the planning process and working with integrated teams of engineers, economists and other specialists in urban development.
Education should include a degree in Master Planning. Experience working in some capacity with KSA planning policy is a requirement, but working in private consulting would also be considered an advantage. A seniority level of at least 10 years in master planning related experience is requested.
You should be fluent in Arabic and English. International master planning experience, and experience living or working in an international context for some period of time, would also be considered a distinct advantage.
