About the opportunity:

We are seeking a qualified and driven individual to fill a key leadership role of Operational Sales Director, to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

In this role you will be a senior Jacobs representative in KSA. You will oversee and contribute to our expanding business presence in the Middle East, reporting directly to the Middle East Portfolio Director and working alongside the Middle East Operations Manager. You'll be responsible for operations led business development activities within the Middle East market across Defence, Space, and Nuclear domains, particularly focused on KSA. You will work in partnership with the operations team and Market Sector Business Development Directors to develop and implement the growth strategy; organizing, directing, and motivating multi-sector pursuit teams to pursue and win work.

In addition, you will hold operational accountability for delivery of key inflight projects ensuring delivery excellence for our clients and be the primary liaison for our global network of partners and experts and ensure adherence to local laws and rules.

The role is expected to consistently advocate and adhere to Jacobs business development process and procurement integrity guidelines.

Key responsibilities of the role are as follows:

  • Accountable for delivery of allocated sales/business plans within the Middle East geography and partner with the operations team to deliver Operating Unit growth targets.

  • Develop and execute a plan to achieve annual sales targets and grow the company in KSA.

  • Lead and develop our client relationships in Kingdom and act as the face of the business within KSA. Generate and fosters positive client relationships and prospect, develop, and close a continuous pipeline of sales opportunities.

  • Implement Client Relationship Strategies and Client Plans

  • Assist in establishing our local presence and visibility to clients in KSA. Recommend strategic hires, mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures when appropriate in support of business development strategies.

  • Develop localized brand strategies that enhance the reputation and visibility of Jacobs in KSA.

  • Conducts the research and analysis of business opportunities within identified business segments and target markets.

  • Support in client, competitor, and market research; development of documented client strategies; and development of presentations and white papers.

  • Serves as Operational Sales Lead with responsibility for proposal strategy, preparation, submittal, and/or implementation upon award for specific pursuits.

  • Develops value propositions that enhance Jacobs’ competitive position and achieve client objectives.

  • Implements quality, safety, and BeyondZero program to promote an incident and injury free culture.

Here’s What You’ll Need:

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • Experience across the defence, security, space or technology sectors

  • Proven success and established client relationships in the KSA market 

  • Be able to lead our penetration of new sectors and develop client relationships in KSA and the wider Middle East.

  • Be both strategic and be able to close deals.

  • A bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field, such as business administration, management, engineering, or economics.

  • At least 15 years professional experience in consulting, project management, engineering, or a related field, preferably in the Middle East region.

  • A minimum of 5 years Business Development or Sales experience in professional sales in the professional services sector.

  • Proven track record of leading complex projects or bids and delivering results that meet or exceed client expectations.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to adapt to changing situations and priorities.

  • Fluency in English and Arabic, both written and spoken.

  • Work may be required after hours and on weekends, and sometimes on short notice.

  • Must be willing and able to travel.
