Developing reduced order models
The successful applicant will both develop and apply methods for data-driven model reduction, and data fusion between experiments and physics simulations to accelerate analysis of current and future spacecraft technologies. Experience with particular methods is helpful, but diverse systems will require various methods, so a firm grasp on the underlying mathematics, and flexibility to learn new methods will prove more important. The multidisciplinary nature and goals of the project also place a strong emphasis on communicating with research scientists and management of diverse technical levels and backgrounds. The successful applicant is expected to publish results in peer-reviewed journals, present research at external conferences, etc.
Here’s What You’ll Need:
PhD in Mathematics/Applied Mathematics, Physics, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science and 4 (four) years related experience.
Experience with mathematical analysis of dynamical systems, and physics of plasmas, in-space propulsion, or similar systems is essential as is experience programming with Matlab, C++, and Python.
US Citizenship with ability to obtain a security clearance
