Jacobs Environmental Geologist in Sacramento, California
As an Environmental Geologist, you will participate in a variety of field and office tasks related to planning, evaluating, and implementing environmental investigations and remediation projects. Field activities include performing field observation and data collection assignments during soil and groundwater sampling, including oversight of drilling activities related to installation of soil borings and monitoring wells. Other field tasks to be performed include surface water sampling, construction oversight, sample management, and site reconnaissance with priority on performing all work in accordance with sampling and safety plans. Additional office responsibilities include supporting senior staff with data analysis and planning and reporting tasks.
Lead and support safety on our projects, including contribution to “incident free” operations in the office and in the field.

Estimated field to office split: 50/50
Estimated travel requirement is 10-25% (most of which is local)
BS Degree in Hydrogeology, Hydrology or Geology
Minimum of 2 years experience in the environmental field, including site remediation, and site management/characterization
Knowledge and experience with various media (soil, soil vapor, groundwater, surface water and sediment) investigations, data assessments and evaluations, and remediation technologies
Experience with Microsoft Office software
Must be knowledgeable in field work methodology and procedures
40-hr HAZWOPER certification or the ability to attain this certification
Intent to obtain California Professional Geologist certification
2-4 years experience in the environmental field
Knowledge of soil logging using Unified Soil Classification System
