Jacobs JSEC Client Account and Solutions Director - REMOTE in Sacramento, California

Your Impact:

Within the Divergent Solutions (DVS) line of business, our Platforms, Technologies & Software Solutions (PT&SS) business focuses on revolutionizing next generation solutions with technologies, platforms, and software enabled services. This position will help supercharge growth for the Jacobs Software Engineering Center (JSEC) in Hudson, New Hampshire, a critical area of PT&SS.

JSEC is searching for the right person to expand our business development and capture efforts in direct support of growth targets. This is a unique opportunity to define and build the sales capability for a dynamic software organization working within the Department of Defense’s (DoD) enterprise.

As the growth and sales lead for the JSEC organization, this position will also work closely and directly with the Jacobs Divergent Solutions Growth and Sales organization to coordinate and collaborate on strategies and opportunities to grow the business globally.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop growth strategies that build off core strengths of JSEC

  • Identify prospective new software development work and opportunity in logical, adjacent industry spaces

  • Build strong personal relationships with current and prospective customers

  • Develop plans for securing knowledge and understanding of the customer’s requirements, software development strategies, capabilities, issues, and needs

  • Lead planning sessions with core team

  • Coordinate meetings with customers, competitors, clients, and teammates to develop market insight on requirements, acquisition strategy, acquisition timing, and contract vehicle choices

  • Plan and lead capture activities, to include opportunity gate reviews, collaboration and workshop sessions, proposal reviews

  • Work within the foundation of the Jacobs Divergent Solutions capture planning process and practices

  • Brief capture status at specified milestones in the capture process, when material changes occur and as needed

  • Mentor program managers in the capture management process

  • Develop capture budgets and execute capture plans within those approved budgetsSupport other business development activities as assigned

Here’s What You’ll Need:

  • Active Top Secret security clearance

  • Bachelor’s Degree (technical discipline preferred)

  • 10+ years of overall relevant project delivery, program management, sales, and business development experience

  • 5+ years demonstrated experience developing, building, and growing business in the DoD space with direct knowledge of and experience with the Air Force, Space Force, and/or TRANSCOM

  • 5+ years experience in software-based business development

  • Leadership skills to develop, organize and execute significant capture activities, including building industry teams, assessing win probability, and executing customer call plans to shape acquisitions, in order to respond to and win business with new and existing customers

  • A proven track record of successful capture management in Department of Defense (particularly USAF, Navy & Army) software markets across organizations

  • Experience leading teams in a virtual environment; ability to work through others, and get results from teams that do not report directly to you

  • Must be able to secure and maintain a security clearance.

  • Must be able to read and write effectively in English.

  • Must embrace Beyond Zero/Safety principles of Jacobs to include; adhering to safe work practices and standards while performing daily tasks, taking responsibility for own and coworkers’ safekeeping and encouraging others to work safely.

  • With the exception of STD/LTD/FMLA & approved time off, attendance is considered essential.

  • Must be able to work within the shift hours of 7:00am and 5:00pm.

  • Physical requirements – Work is primarily sedentary. Some walking and standing may occur in the course of a normal workday in connection with travel to and from meeting and conferences. May carry light items, such as reports, data products, and notebooks.

  • Willingness to travel to other U.S. cities to support customer visits and strategy workshops.

  • Estimated travel up to 25% annually as required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Financial experience to understand pricing and other quantitative complexities in large bids

  • Completed professional training in Capture Management

  • Active TS/SCI security clearance

The base salary range for this position is $190,000 to $230,000. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
