Jacobs Water Resource Recovery Practice Lead in Sacramento, California
We’re seeking a Water Resource Recovery Practice Lead to join our team in any of our California offices - someone who can apply their experience in the wastewater industry to today’s challenges.
You will work in collaboration with our California Market Growth Director and Director of Operations to develop and implement a Water Resource Recovery strategy for California. This effort includes building a team of Water Resource Recovery engineers and planners to deliver our client's most challenging projects and to foster the growth of our California Water Resource Recovery team.
As a practice leader, you are responsible for driving the growth of the Water Resource Recovery practice to advance our water business unit's strategic goals. In this role, you will also be responsible for understanding the unique trends in the market and using that knowledge to work with our team to create technical differentiation from that of our competitors while serving as an important conduit between our National Market Solution (technology) Leaders, California Sales Leaders, and our operations (delivery) leadership and practice staff in our Water Business Unit.
As an experienced member of our team, you will manage our largest and most complicated projects and client services in planning, design and services during construction.
You’ll grow your career by leading master plans and studies, in addition to design projects for wastewater pipelines, pump stations, and treatment facilities. You’ll play an integral role in mentoring more junior staff, forming long-term relationships with clients and pursuing new work, including marketing and strategy development, positioning, procuring, and negotiating contracts. As Practice Lead, you will lead multidiscipline planning and design teams to complete tasks within established schedules and budgets and help advance our business development strategies. The salary range below reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all listed California locations.
Bachelor’s Degree in civil, chemical, or mechanical engineering, or a related discipline.
Professional Engineer (PE) Licensure from the State of California or ability to obtain within 12 months.
Demonstrated understanding of wastewater collection and conveyance systems, pump stations, and treatment facilities.
Strong communication skills.
Demonstrated self-starter.
Project management experience for wastewater utility projects.
Demonstrated ability to develop relationships with clients and win work.
Ideally, you’ll also have:
At least 15 years of experience.
Strong network with California municipalities
