At this level the engineer will serve in a staff technical role on heavy infrastructure projects involving marine and bridge projects and perform routine structural analysis and design for projects as directed. The engineer will advance through developmental stages that range from professional work under close supervision and receiving specific and detailed instructions to providing instruction and close supervision for entry level professional staff as to complete required tasks and deliver results expected.

Work performed include but is not limited to:

  • Plan preparation, designs, calculations, costs estimates and bridge inspections;

  • Coordinating with other departments to gather information.

  • Provide guidance and training to entry-level engineers.

  • Reports and technical documentation

  • Performing in a teamwork environment.

  • Other duties as required.

Here’s what you’ll need :

  • A minimum of MSCE with a focus in structural engineering or Masters of Structural Engineering required.

  • A minimum of 0-5 years demonstrated experience in Bridge/Structural design, Bridge/Structural inspection, and Load Rating Analysis a plus.

  • Proficient knowledge of structural engineering principles, practices, process, design/build, and the application to project work-related issues

  • Knowledge of MicroStation, Microsoft Office, MathCad, SAP2000, MIDAS or equivalent.

  • Knowledge of MoDOT, and or IDOT, standards, specifications, and procedures.

  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

  • Ability and willingness to learn.

  • Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.
