When you join us as a Structural Engineer, you will utilize your technical expertise on heavy infrastructure projects involving marine and bridge structures. We'll ask you to perform routine structural analysis and design for projects as directed. You'll have the opportunity for career growth through professional work to providing instruction and close supervision for entry level professional staff ensuring required tasks are complete and client expectations are met.

When you join us you'll be responsible for:

  • Planning preparation, designs, calculations, costs estimates and bridge inspections;

  • Coordinating with other departments to gather information.

  • Providing guidance and training to entry-level engineers.

  • Reports and technical documentation

  • Performing in a teamwork environment.

Other duties may include estimating project costs, contract negotiations, overseeing and ensuring that project quality, schedule, and budget requirements are met. As a key member of the team, you'll focus on business development, client presentations, and proposal preparation for some of the most complex bridge projects in the Midwest region.

Here’s what you’ll need :

  • Master of Science in Civil Engineering with a focus in structural engineering or Masters of Structural Engineering

  • Professional Engineering (PE) license

  • 10 years demonstrated experience in Bridge/Structural design, Bridge/Structural inspection, and Load Rating Analysis

  • Proficient knowledge of structural engineering principles, practices, process, design/build, and the application to project work-related issues

  • Experience with infrastructure planning, design, and construction management; including active involvement in a variety of rehabilitation and new design projects.

  • Knowledge of MicroStation, Microsoft Office, MathCad, SAP2000, MIDAS or equivalent.

  • Proficiency with MoDOT, and or IDOT standards, specifications, and procedures.

  • Participation in professional associations is a plus.

  • Strong technical writing, analytical and communication skills with strong attention to detail with an emphasis on a quality work product.

  • Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.

  • Perform professional structural engineering work and lead Bridge design tasks as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
