Jacobs one of three partners making up the Consortium MOMENTUM (http://www.momentum-iter.com/) (construction management-as-agent contractor) is project managing the construction and assembly of more than one million components in world’s largest fusion reactor.
As construction management-as-agent contractor, MOMENTUM is managing the construction and assembly of the first full-scale test reactor to include balance of plant and the Tokomak itself. Jacobs Clean Energy France SAS is recruiting for an Established Pre Construction Engineer with at least 7 years of experience to work on the ITER Project near to Aix-en-Provence, France.
He/She will be responsible for:
Takes direction from and interacts directly with the Pre-Construction Lead Engineer and Pre Construction Preparation Manager for Functional and Delivery topicsContribute to the pre-construction activities associated to the scope assigned by the Pre-Construction Lead Engineer:
Assessment of constructability, including identification of potential optimisations in schedule or scope
Initial Construction Readiness Reviews
Preparation or update of the documentation (for completeness) related to the Engineering Work Packages (EWP)
Preparation and dispatch of the documentation related to the Construction Work Packages (CWP)
Review of Installation Work Packages (IWP) submitted by the Contractor
Planning and tracking delivery of CWP and other pre-construction activities
Support Events Management – Request for Information (RFI), Deviation Request (DR) and Field Change Request (FCR)
Develop relationships with all stakeholders (IO, CMA, Design Engineer & Contractor)
Expert in all civil engineering and pre-construction matters
Supervision of civil works on site including: checking and verifying the works; reporting progress
Please note the job offer would be based on a local French contract – this would not be an expatriate assignment.

Here’s What You’ll Need:
Construction Preparation experience in a large scale project environment, with additional international construction experience
Knowledge of Civil Engineering
Leadership in a multi-national joint venture(s) and cognisance of cultural requirements and behaviours
Familiarity with French, European & international standards (NF, EN & ISO)
Familiarity with nuclear regulations (INB)
Experience in reviewing technical documentation
5 years of experience in Construction / Construction Preparation
5 years of experience in Civil engineering
Good communication and interpersonal skills along with creative solution and problem solving skills
Fluent in English, with additional French preferred.
Very organized and structured
Self-motivated and high sense of responsibility
Good team player and able to interface with other disciplines
