Lead Electrical Engineer / Project Engineer

Researches, develops, designs, and tests a variety of equipment, facilities, components, products, and systems for commercial and industrial purposes. Supervisory and administrative responsibility over a group of engineers or functions as a technical specialist formulating and developing advanced concepts, techniques, and standards. Responsibilities include assuring effective utilization of engineering personnel, and technical quality.
Performs as Lead Electrical Engineer/Project Engineer on large capital projects, develops and maintains man- hour budgets, manpower requirements and project schedules
Develops a full understanding of the project scope and procedures
Supervises the Electrical engineering and design personnel assigned to his project
Assigns work to Electrical personnel, ensuring the best utilization of their knowledge and capabilities
Monitors the engineering and design efforts on his project to assure compliance with Client, Jacobs' and industry standards
Assists the Section and Department Managers in performance evaluation of Electrical personnel under his supervision
Establishes drawing requirements, project procedures and controls, stressing continuity within all disciplines.
Completes the Electrical Survey form and develops the Design Basis document
Forecasts manpower requirements to maintain the job schedule
Continues development of his personal knowledge, skills and potential, both technical and supervisory
Recognized Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in engineering or technical field from an accredited college or University required
PE in Electrical Engineering with 7-15 years’ experience
Candidate must be comfortable in heavy industrial environments (mining, oil and gas, etc) – project engineering/project management experience
Candidate should be familiar with MSHA and OSHA safety standards
Candidate should be experienced with planning/directing electrical field work, industrial electrical layout, and electrical design is a plus
Experienced with P&IDs, Loops, Interconnection, etc
Current knowledge of EPC work processes as well as familiarity with the various project phases and the scope/deliverables required
Working experience in selection, specification and design of major electrical equipment required
Experience in vendor selection, including technical evaluations required
Experience in overall project execution, including engineering, procurement, shipping, installation, start-up, and project management required
Functional MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) required
AutoCAD experience is a plus
Excellent oral and written communication skills required
Strong working knowledge and practical application of typical power system configurations and operation preferred
P.E. License required
